1. Saunkan Saunkne 2 picks up a few years after the chaos of the first film. Nirmal (Ammy Virk) is now living under one roof with both his wives, Naseeb (Sargun Mehta) and Kirna (Nimrat Khaira). While things seem peaceful on the surface, the competition between the two wives has only evolved — from fighting over Nirmal’s affection to now fighting over whose child will be more successful.
2. Naseeb and Kirna are both mothers now, and their sons are around the same age. The two boys are polar opposites — one is shy and studious, the other mischievous and street-smart. Instead of bonding as cousins, they’re pushed into rivalry by their mothers’ endless comparisons and petty one-upmanship.
3. Nirmal, once again, finds himself stuck between the two women — trying to keep peace in the house, pretending to agree with both sides, and failing miserably. His dialogues, full of innocent lies and panicked expressions, bring back the signature comedy the audience loved in part one.
4. Things take a hilarious turn when a prestigious inter-village competition is announced, involving debates, cooking, wrestling, and even bhangra. Both wives secretly enroll their sons, determined to prove who is the superior mother. Nirmal is forced to become the coach of both kids — without either wife knowing.
5. Meanwhile, a third woman, Harleen (a new character), enters the story as the judge’s daughter, and both wives mistakenly think she’s trying to woo Nirmal. This sparks a new wave of jealousy, and the two unite temporarily — not out of love, but to “protect their husband” from the new threat.
6. Amid the chaos, Nirmal’s mother (played by Nirmal Rishi) returns from abroad, wiser and sassier than ever. She becomes the voice of reason and starts secretly working to bring peace to the family, using reverse psychology and her signature witty dialogues.
7. The climax unfolds at the competition, where both sons end up teaming up to save the village from embarrassment after an accident ruins the final performance. Their unity makes the mothers realize how their rivalry was affecting the children. Nirmal finally speaks up too, delivering an emotional yet funny monologue.
8. The film ends with the whole family dancing together, including Nirmal’s mother who declares, “Mainu pata si, eh sab theek ho jana!” The final scene shows Nirmal finally relaxing with both wives at his side — until they start arguing again about whose turn it is to pick the movie for family night, setting the stage for Saunkan Saunkne 3.
